What are Leabon’s router bits and milling cutters made of?

Our router bits use TCT (tungsten carbide tipped) for everyday wood, MDF and plywood; PCD (polycrystalline diamond) bits for abrasive MDF and high-volume production; and TiAlN-coated solid tungsten steel for aluminum, titanium and magnesium. Pick TCT for general work, PCD for wear resistance, metal-grade carbide for non-ferrous metals.

How do I choose the right shank size and flute count?

Match the shank to your router or CNC spindle — common sizes are 3.175 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, 12 mm and 1/4" to 1/2". Use 1–2 flutes for soft materials like acrylic and wood, 3 flutes for cleaner, faster cuts in panels, and 4 flutes (or ball-nose) for metal and fine finishes. All dimensions are listed on each product.

When should I replace a router bit or milling cutter?

Replace it when you see burn marks, tear-out, chatter, a visibly dull or chipped edge, or a drop in cut quality and feed speed. Carbide and PCD outlast HSS by many times; keep spares of your high-use profiles to avoid downtime.
